Thank you so much Kathleen. This was a special writing assignment for me - my son and daughter in law asked me to write a poem to be read at their wedding. My one chance to give them advice that might actually listen to!! All drawn from experience in and out of love. BB

They are so lucky to have such a talented dad/father-in-law. I’m sure they will treasure that forever. I know I would.

I was very much taken with this love poem that BB wrote for the wedding of his son, Noah, and new daughter-in-law, Elena. I particularly liked the reflective realism that ends stanza 2.

Falling in love is just

the easy entrance.

Getting back up,

in the realness of love,

is the labor.

There are easier things than love.

I think this really captures the idea that love is something we need to constantly work at in order to keep the romance and magic alive through all the up and downs of a true relationship because we are all human and and are going to mess things up from time to time.

This poem is thoughtful and wise, and could be read at any wedding. Well done, BB.
